Hmm... I think I shall throw in some really good Norwegian music - just to be different ^_^

A-HA --- (Any album, really) --- Pop/Rock
Baba Nation --- "Love Express" --- Pop/Rock
Babel Nation --- "Coming up for Air" --- Pop/Rock
Bel Canto --- "Retrospect" --- Pop/Rock/New Age
D'Sound --- "Beauty is a Blessing" --- Pop/Rock/Jazz
Dance With a Stranger --- "Unplugged" --- Jazz
Katthult --- "Katthult" --- Pop/Rock
Madrugada --- "The Nightly Disease" --- Pop/Rock/Experimental
Morten Harket --- "Wild Seed" --- Pop/Rock
Lene Marlin --- (Any album, but especially "Lost in a Moment") --- Pop
The September When --- "Hugger Mugger" --- Pop/Rock
Trine Rein --- "Finders Keepers" --- Pop
(Remember the big hit "Thorn"? Well, it was Trine's originally.)

All of those sing in English, but if you want some truly amazing Norwegian music (if Bel Canto doesn't do it for you...), then you can try to get your hands on the following:

Anne Grete Preus --- "Alfabet" --- Pop
Halvdan Sivertsen --- "Hilsen Halvdan" --- Humour/Folksong
Lillebjørn Nilsen --- "40 Spor" --- Humour/Folksong
Postgirobygget --- "Melis" --- Pop/Rock
Øystein Sunde --- "40 Beste" --- Humour/Folksong

They sing in Norwegian :P

Yo!

I just listed one song per band, which I thought was possibly the best to introduce you their music, so most of my listed bands have lots of good stuff. However, I just had to wonder how Dvoe ended up with Gethsemane? Not that it's not good, but I don't think it represents well Nightwish's production.

Couple of "must-hear" from Nightwish:
Once (2004) - Wish I Had an Angel, Nemo, Planet Hell, The Siren
Century Child (2002) - Bless the Child, Dead to the World, Everdream, Ocean Soul, Beauty of the Beast
Wishmaster (2000) - She Is My Sin, The Kinslayer, Wishmaster
Oceanborn (1998) - Stargazers, Sacrament of Wilderness, Swanheart, Moondance, The Riddler, Walking in the Air, Sleeping Sun
Angels Fall First (1997) - Elvenpath, Angels Fall First.

Heh, I knew it was going to be long list, but it still surprised me... ^_^ Excellent stuff, I strongly recommend!
