In a very grim situation actually, if we remove his effort from initial stages. Afterwards, they'd be actually far more interesting (before Moria, etc..) if he wasn't there.

And the worst thing is that even if I decided to try for a performance straight after exams - I won't be getting drunk like other people, so I'll need to find alternative ways of having fun - I won't be able to, thanks to the lousy bus service between Oxford and Stratford. And none of my friends has a car. Gah.

Back on topic, I'd say Gollum or Sam. Together, they're great

And yea, the potatoe scene was pretty awesome ^^
Man, I feel semi bad I forgot about the witch king, that was pretty cool too...
EDIT : I suppose I should read the series again, last time I read it was back in the 3rd grade...so I don't remember much =\

Our teacher in Grade 3 read us The Hobbit, that was an intriguing experience. And yeah Gollum and Sam, their scenes were great.

Yup the entire book from start to finish. Can't believe it either looking back, had to read the book again in like grade 8, cause so much time had passed, but had a fond memory of the events and all that took place, definitely different than what a lot of grade 3 teachers were reading to their kids at the time.

Did Gollum really have blue eyes? I don't think so, but what does it matter?
Immediate edit: Actual point forgot: I think Gollum was pretty nicely animated, but somehow his mental disorders were lame...
