Suddenly the GTA series have become the standard of gaming... no game can be worst, than the gta out at the moment. I personally started disliking gta games, since tehy wen't from above 2 rear view... else I like the old gtas more.

In the review GTA 2 got a negative for many violent scenes. Isn't violence the point of this game?

I like GTA 2 better than GTA 1. GTA 1 has a really wobbly camera. It makes me feel dizzy.

Does anyone know if there are maps to the different districts of the city?  I really hate not knowing where I'm going when the cops are chasing me.  I have looked online, but cannot find anything.

Never heard that there was online. But spend some time just cruising and get knowing the places and you'll be fine. I always try to get good picture of the districts and memorize them, but I don't explore every alley, thus ending up into deep troubles every now and then, when I get stuck in them!

I added the map and manual from Xplosiv's budget release of the game as extras - they're on the right hand side of the review/download page. Knew I kept that CD around for a reason

Yours came on a CD? Must be for the newer edition I imagine, I still have the original maps that came with the big box, ah memories.

Yeah, you can buy gta 2 on CD for real cheap, but what's the point if you can dl it for free?

Yeah they started selling it cheap awhile back. Got 2 copies of it myself because bought the reissue by rockstar and GTA and GTA: London, that was updated for newer systems, well ya could download it but not everyone has super fast connections and it is 300 MB.

I've got a budget version which doesn't have any documents, just PDFs of the manual and map, which turned out to be useful

Ahh gotcha, lazy rockstar. Yeah even with the reissue I got smaller maps than the original ones which were sizeable, but I hardly use them anyway especially for 2 since I know pretty much every area and such.

Heh, short look at the maps and I remembered several secret places! And all the maps looked very familiar, I guess driving once around the city would had brought the places back to my mind. Still, this is very useful for beginners!

Think for me the maps actually made me more lost at times, only found them useful for finding spray shops and such, just driving around the city especially for 2 will get ya accustomed.

For me it didn't even take long to get to know the places. Perhaps if you always look from the map makes you dependent. I'd recommend everyone to learn the neighborhood by themselves cruising the streets.
