Anyhoo, I've put in a call in response to an ad that ran this weekend for a graphic designer position at a local magazine.
I don't have *exactly* the skills they requested, though - I've never used Quark for doing layouts, but I have experience with InDesign, which is the Adobe equivalent.
Anyway, I'm hoping if I put together a portfolio of some sample work, and mention in my resume that I'm very fond of learning new things, and that I've been the Art Director for site advertising content on www.reloaded.org for over a year now
, that I might have a chance anyway.My other position of choice that I'm looking into atm is a part-time job as a courier. Not really my job of choice, but I liked my prior delivery job, and as long as they provide the vehicle and the gas, it allows me to study and look for better jobs while still earning money, being part-time.
Especially the graphic design one you would done well in that one imo since your a great artist so hopefully it works out for ya and maybe you can at least get an interview and show off some of your work.
