Thought I'd post up some latest lyrics I wrote up this week, another tale of sorts call it what ya want, not all my songs are like this, I got a ton I could show but this one thought I'd share with you all, check it out.
"Tale of the nitewatchman." © (Barin)
Searching the nite
Trying to make sense of it all
Seems that this journey will go on
What is the mystery that lies here
Murder, intrigue, is what draws the many
Yet only the few solve it
Chorus
Tales of pain is what's told
The past seems to not be so long ago
Reading on to discover a clue
Not clear to the wary
Can't understand the interest
Of the story of the nitewatchman
The misty clouds shadow the air
Light breaks the quietness of the nite
As some go forth in their interest
Wanting to discover what happened
To that nitewatchman who lays nearby
Or so the tale has been told....
Chorus
Tales of pain is what's told
The past seems to not be so long ago
Reading on to discover a clue
Not clear to the wary
Can't understand the interest
Of the story of the nitewatchman
The bell catches many off guard
The ringing ever haunting to their ears
Getting back to their search
Coming upon the book of the watchman
Reading the contents of his tales
As a chilling laugh fills the air...
The nitewatchman is watching you!
Chorus
Tales of pain is what's told
The past seems to not be so long ago
Reading on to discover a clue
Not clear to the wary
Can't understand the interest
Of the story of the nitewatchman

Thought I'd share another song wrote recently, can't be in a metal band without having a darkish moody sort of song, and this is that kind of song. mwhaha
"Fatal Recollection." © (Barin)
During the times of sorrow and pain
One always managed to stand tall and strong
Never letting the negativty win
Even as the others fell behind him
Always finding a way to keep walking
That energy is soon fading...
Chorus
The end is coming soon
Those days of happiness are....
Fading into the darkness
This troubled soul tries to move on
But the sorrow and pain are still there
Still burning inside his mind
Won't let anything get to him
Always trying to be positive
Nothing can faze his deep skin
Yet all is not well
Suffering deep inside himself
He hides the troubles of his life
Chorus
The end is coming soon
Those days of happiness are.
Fading into the darkness
This troubled soul tries to move on
But the sorrow and pain are still there
Still burning inside his mind
Stuck in an infinite loop
Seems he falls into the same pattern
Can't break free of this cycle
No one to turn to, to ease his pain
Seems like an ordinary story
Of a troubled soul, trapped in his own existence
Chorus
The end is coming soon
Those days of happiness are.
Fading into the darkness
This troubled soul tries to move on
But the sorrow and pain are still there
Still burning inside his mind

Short little update:
Wrote 2 new compositions lately. One power ballad and one heavy riffing song (kinda cross between In Flames and Pantera). That makes 4 I have to record, mix and edit. You'll be seeing alot of new music after my final exams finish on the 20th.

Did manage to find a song written about 2-3 weeks ago that's pretty cool, well imo at least. Kind of an epic relatively (we seem to have a lot of epics so far)
"Gunners Aim." © (Barin)
Smelling the air
As the front line moves forward
You look to the distance
See the other side marching
Staring you down
Running towards the action
Chorus
The guns fire off
Dodging the shots
Another soldier goes down
No one is safe
From the gunners aim
Looking into the eyes of your partner
The fear present on his face
Charging forward once again
Firing away at the opposition
You see someone fall down
Another life taken
Chorus
The guns fire off
Dodging the shots
Another soldier goes down
No one is safe
From the gunners aim
The bullets race around you
You stare down someone
As you leap over the trench
Running towards them you grapple
Who will emerge victorious?
As the explosions tear the earth apart

Update time: Well last week recorded latest song river knights, still some editing has to be done before put up on the website, but it's done and started work on next song called Betrayal I.
As well coming closer to picking a bassist I have heard and as well have met a guy I work with at work who is a drummer and asked him to see if he's interested in drumming for the band, he'll be recording some tracks for me next week and we'll see if we like it, if it works out we'll have a complete band.

Been writing a few new songs these last 10 days or so. Songwriting is coming along very slowly but I really feel like I'm growing and maturing as a songwriter. The new music has a different feel from the older material and has a much more balanced approach to heavy riffing and melodies. Been working on my scale variations and solo techniques, I guess you can say I'm trying to improve every aspect of my playing and eventual delivery. I really think you guys will enjoy whats coming next, the songs have come a long way.
To be continued...

Well finally with some luck I have managed to write another song today, it was tough as this past while I have been with writers block when it came to music, not being able to get anything down but I managed to do it today, here it is. If you would like to provide an opinion on it, go ahead I don't mind.
I myself too am improving these past days vocally, my range is getting better and I'm starting to get power in my voice, some people I have showed off the site at work have made some positive comments towards the music and I feel I can only continue to grow, I'm still growing and learning and practicing as much as I can so can go as far as we can.
"Freefalling Hero" © (Barin)
Sensation that is falling
Freefalling away from it all
As I experience it again
That one last sensation
Moves my inner being
Only then I realize the knowledge
How I learned the facts
Chorus
The enigma lies in front
Knowing the truth, hard to face
Sensing the story that goes on
Haunts me to this day
Always something familiar that I face
Leaving it all behind, walking away...
Back on my feet again
Rising up after the long day
No one to turn to
Seems that your all alone...
Facing out against the day sky
You could run away from it all
But you will show them no fear!
Chorus
The enigma lies in front
Knowing the truth, hard to face
Sensing the story that goes on
Haunts me to this day
Always something familiar that I face
Leaving it all behind, walking away...
Letting loose all the negativity
That's been draining me these days
The dreams that have brought me down
It's all come to an end now
Telling myself, I try to convince
Knowing it's never that easy
Will I fall again or rise up in the end?

Update time a bassist has been chosen from the band these past days, a good friend of both myself and dvoe and has been playing guitar for 10 years, so it's a good fit for the band.
River Knights again received a new recording as well with doubling on vocals, not yet ready to be put on the web site but in coming days it will be.
Second off a new version of Forbidden was recorded last nite and it's up at our website, which you can get to easily from my sig, am interested to see what everyone thinks about this one.

Update time! Well this coming Friday going to meet with a potential drummer and if luck just so happens to shine upon the situation then our band shall be complete.
However that's not the main point of this post, I would like to share with all of you an in progress track that myself and Dvoe worked on last friday, it is comprised of only one verse and one chorus so it's not a full song, but like I said work in progress. So am interested to hear what people think of it, and whatever comments you may have about the song, feel free to write em cause would love to hear them. They can really go a long way in helping myself for example if I need to change some things up or whatever is suggested.

And lyrics as well.

Its not bad, until you hit the line"Its hard to face" then you hit a higher note that seems screechy. I'd work on that part but other than that its really good. Keep up the great singin' dude.
Pi stinks, tastes horribles, and I hate it! But cake is good...

Wow thats an old song. I wrote the music for that well over a year ago. Not one of our better pieces for sure.
It has potential, we'll probably rework this sometime.

Well some bits of news to share, first off our old name of FolkLore is gone, yes we've kicked it to the curb, go on get out of here.
A new name was reached last nite and we are now known as Disciples of Lost Horizons *Cue thunder/lightning and epic music*
Second bit of news, had a tryout with a potential interested drummer and just got back and as a result we have a new drummer! The guy was solid and was incredible, when him and dvoe were playing, it sounded like they had been playing for a couple of years, they meshed together nicely, needless to say the band is complete for the time being, but our second guitarist is kind of an iffy position, for now we'll have to see.

Along this river trail
The story from long ago begins again
Wondering why I can't react
Picking up the pace quickly
Turning the corner
Twisting and facing the unknown
This hidden story...
Chorus
Keeping my head up
Losing my sense of direction
The pressure is building again
Standing my ground
I'm just standing my ground
Standing my ground
I took that hand that led me here
The presence that brought much
Only seeing the trees around me
No one is here with me
I've traveled to many lands
Seen many sights in my journeys
Yet they all lead here...
Chorus
Keeping my head up
Losing my sense of direction
The pressure is building again
Standing my ground
I'm just standing my ground
Standing my ground
Had a dream from long ago
Picturing everything here
Cause I know that time is against me
Those moments will soon be gone
Wondering how strange this is
Imagining that someone around the bush
Only to discover the emptiness of it all..

DakaSha:and you have a class of little kids hitting eachother with rubber dongs which must be quite funny (also Picklweasel knight I am)
