I'm a big fan of (mostly) classic console games. I was wondering what games you guys like & recomend. Main reason I opened this thread is because there are alot of old console games people dont know about... being because they are too young, werent interested and mostly because alot of the games didnt come out in europe/usa and because some systems were just way to expensive... also when it comes to arcade emulation lots of people have never even touched an arcade machine.

I myself play(and use for emulation):

NES - Nestopia
SNES - ZSNES
Genesis/MegaDrive - GENS
NeoGeo - NeoRage
Arcade Machines - MAME (I use WinKawaks for CPS emulation...runs like a DREAM)
Pinball Machines - Visual PinMAME

Yes there is a pinball machine emulator :ok: it can also be used for creating any kind of pinball machine you want.

A couple games I would recomend:

NES - well ALOT :D

SNES - Also ALOT but there are a couple that didnt come out here and that have been translated: Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2!), Front Mission (Cool Strategy RPG), Bahamut Lagoon (A Square Pokemonesque RPG), Magin Tensei 1&2 (Adult Pokemonesque RPG with demons), Mario RPG! (didnt come out in europe i think... definetly not in germany) Also a couple games that alot of people dont know about but that rock: e.V.o. (Enix RPG Jump&Run Evolution game...cool!), Teakwondo (realistic fighting game... sadly only in korean and japanese without translation), Captain Tsubasa (Strategy-RPGesque Soccer game... very bad translation available)

There are alot more cool/unknown SNES games but itd take forever to list them all :ok:

Genesis - Gunstar Heroes(very cool Probotector/Contra type game... better in my opinion), Starflight, ECCO the Dolphin!, and of course the one and only Herzog Zwei... father of all RTS games

NeoGeo - Samurai Showdown Series, King of Fighters Series (95' - 2004), Metalslug series

Arcade - lots... I'll just name a couple CPS2 games: Capcom vs Marvel, Gigawing, Super Puzzle Fighter

I spoke to Tai about this and she said its ok but DO NOT LIST ANY EMULATION SITES because it pretty much counts as warez

SNES (the more rare ones - I think): Techmo Super Bowl (the only sports game I will ever play  :D ), Rampart, Flashback, Gundam Wing: Endless Duel. There's a bunch more but when I transferred to a new computer they all got deleted so I only had the ones I remembered  :ok:.

SNES - ZSNES
Genesis/MegaDrive - GENS
NeoGeo - NeoRage / WinKawaks

In the last time I played through some of the good old Sonic The Hedgehog games and Gunstar Heroes, but most of the time I play NeoGeo - games like Metal Slug or beat em ups like King of Fighters, Last Blade and so on.

SNES is in use for some good rpgs.
phuking determined...

This may be a bit of a stupid question, but doesn't playing, say, a SNES or Game Boy game on your PC feel vastly different to playing it on the console it was meant for?:ok:

Still that much for a neo geo plus games? Whoa you'd think prices may have gone down just a tad. :ok:

True enough, most of the old systems would probably fetch a nice buck, even ones like the neo geo cd system, sega cd, and the like.

Ouch that's harsh indeed, well my nes is still broken which is a shame. :ok: My genesis with my one game of nhl 95 is still around the house somewhere.

Ogre Battle was a fun game but hard to get into imo.

man i actually started playing the translated Front Mission and all i can say is  :ok:

graphics are great... the music is great... you wouldnt believe how you can customize your "Wanzers" (Mech). It makes some PC mech games look like crap.

and the translation is GREAT

...I love emulation...
NES: Every FF game, ever. And maybe a mario or two (not two billion.....>< [mario party = blech]) for fun
SNES: Ever FF, ever. Chrono Trigger, duh. And maybe a mario or two.
N64: Mario 64, just so you can say you've played it. Resident Evil (I need to dl it...), Banjo something (good game) Castlevania (AWESOME) Gauntlet (AWESOME, for a bit)
Genesis: Gunstar heroes....
Arcade: Dunno, don't do that, although I really want to find Marvel Vs. Capcom, although it won't be as fun as in arcades for SURE.
Ps1: No clue, don't do that either, and couldn't figure out how even if I wanted to...

And, what i use....
NES: Nesticle
SNES: I forget what its called
N64: Project64
Genesis:forgot

I've only played a few games for the PS1, the only true reason to play it was Gran Turismo 1&2, with a gamepad it's great fun...
(also I had original CDs for it, that didn't work on the normal PS1 because they were scratched :ok:)

DakaSha:if you go into a kindergarden and give all the kids rubber schlongs they will prob just hit each other over the head with them
DakaSha:and you have a class of little kids hitting eachother with rubber dongs which must be quite funny (also Picklweasel knight I am)

What? Pinball emulation? Cool! Where d'you get it?? I was always into developing (in a noob sorta way) and love tweaking (and eventually wrecking) my games. I found a cheat(s) for Space Cadet Pinball- the one included on Windows NT onwards. Here it is-Type "hiddentest" during play. Then u can press "r", "l" and stuff for bonuses, but the grandest thing!-YOU CAN PLAY WITH THE MOUSE! :D (sorry admin.) click n hold on to the ball, and drag it around (may cause RSI and carpal tunnel inflammation, though-pause tha game!) I discovered the thing while running WinDebug, a long long time back. Jam!

space cadet sucks badly. it looks c0ol  at first but its all luck... no skill.

but yeah there is pinball emulation. look for visual pinmame. youll need two programs to actually use it. and its quite complicated but the main page has a tutorial. its easy to get running as long as you read and follow the directions... i couldnt ever really play it because my computer sucked but now with the new one it should work... yay! :ok:

theyve emulated like every pinball machine out there... even ones from the 40's and stuff... pretty neato

@Moogle:
Get WinKawaks and look for Marvel vs Capcom. WinKawaks is an emulator designed specially for the CPS2 system... Marvel cs Capcom works PERFECT. even on a crappy computer :D
