God this game brings back memories..
I used to play it for hours and hours on my old PC (Windows98/266Mhz/1Mbit 2DVideo card), and I loved it...
If you like exploring and fantasy/SciFi..This is your game.. The parser and all just fits in like a glove. A truly awesome interactive adventure
Also, I really recommend reading the books by Frederik Pohl, especially the Gateways (or Gateway) and Plusman (Not sure about the original name and this is a rough translation from Finnish =/)

I agree, this game is absolutely excellent. Don't forget that the sequel is available from Abandonia.
I gotta say that I love almost all of Legend Entertainments games. They simply have a quality that is sadly lacking from most games coming out today. They just don't make them like this anymore. Hopefully more of Legend's games will become freeware in the near future.

Furthermore, it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed.

Well. Because the game is freeware?
You can buy Starsiege Tribes and Tribes II in stores as well. Doesn't change the fact that they have been released for free.
If you have bought copies of said game for your shop, in order to sell them (like shops do), and then the game is declared freeware - do you throw your copies away? Nope. You hope that people will still buy them.

This game is fairly decent but pales in comparison to its sequel; story foremost, story pace secondly; and the sequel had better drawn graphics too, and some actually good-looking cutscenes.
