WHAT?? They're dropping them??

I took the Samræmdu Stúdentspróf in English last christmas.. Had 40°c fever. They sent the grade to me last week   I had forgotten about it! Didn't do too well, but hten again I skipped like 30% of the exam, because i needed to throw up. Then recently, they dropped those too.
(Nota bene: Samræmdu stúdentsprófin (older students) don't mean a thing. Doesn't matter if I do well or not, I just have to write my name correctly. Which I did)

Hmm well, I've actually failed a test because I wrote my name incorrectly. Seriously. The name I use isn't my legal name. ( I add a family name, which isn't registered)

Today I got back an Icelandic essay I wrote some weeks ago. It's 20% of final grade, and I got 0. Reasons given? It wasn't long enough. So unless I can hand it in by next Wednsday, much longer, I fail this course. Well, if I wasn't able to write more back then, how the hell should I be able to do it now??

The teacher had marked some stuff in it. Maybe 2 of those were reasonable; one typo and then I wrote some word in two parts instead of one. The rest of the stuff I can't understand. Like.. underlining sentences, without any explanation, and there's no obvious error in it. I also handed in a poem by the poet i was writing about. The teacher said before we wrote it, that we could hand in extra material we found, for example poems. So I did so, put it in the way back of the essay. After the sources and all that. He wrote "not connected to the rest of the essay" WELL DUH!! It's a side-document, like I stated. A poem, by that poet, like he said would be nice.

Then there was a sentence, something like this (but in Icelandic):
"He was a big fan of horses, loved riding them, and also wrote poems about them. Once he was out riding, but fell off the horse and broke his leg, later it had to be amputated", something like that. After that, I put a footnote (like the little number) and explanation on the bottom margin, where I wrote where I got that information. What the teacher did, was he wrote a question mark there  :ok:  and I'm just supposed to, with some miraculous powers, to know what he means with that question mark.

He gave us back the essays in the end of the class, when I saw this, I had to go out of the classroom immediately. Otherwise I would've freaked out and said stuff I might (or might not) regret. Definitely doesn't help my grade.

A friend of mine read it over, and read over the essay of another girl we know (who got 8.5 out of 10), and she said that mine was much better, the only negative thing about it is how short it is.

So this teacher is trying to fail me, because I'm not able to talk bovine droppings for couple of pages more than I need to.

Anyone seen my stick? Oh wait it crawled up his a** and got stuck. Along with that rat i saw the other day.. it crawled up there and died.

Darn shame, girl. I've always had problems with teachers, so I did quit schools after elementary.

Sorry to hear that Puffin.:( Try to channel your anger into positive energy, though. Try picking up on the things he criticised: for example, if he whined about the poem being unconnected to the rest, pick a poem which perfectly illustrates the points you're making and specifically refer to it in your essay (through quoting, for example). If he underlined bits which weren't wrong, maybe he just couldn't follow your argument, so those points just didn't make sense to him (like the story about the poet's death, which may or may not be directly relevant to your argument). Look at the structure of your argument and make sure it's dead clear and logical. If necessary, shuffle around the bits you've got, and don't be afraid to drop some details if they don't fit in and replacing them with other bits that do.
You can do it, Puffin. :ok:

Ohh, the legendary "My day sucked" thread. I've been hoping for this to make a comeback in Abandonia. Now I won't have to. (I know Seb did the "let out your steam" thing there, but it didn't really feel the same)

So, my day sucks at the moment. I have to be at work from 8 AM to 8 PM today. And there's probably no work at all to do after 3 PM, I'll just have to be here. And I don't even really get any money for this.
What is it about a beautiful sunny afternoon, with the birds singing and the wind rustling through the leaves, that makes you want to get drunk?
