Imagine this. You're in a ship, calmly flying around space. Suddenly, evil glowing shapes of doom start spawning and coming straight at you. You quickly start firing your guns at them before they even come close, and think you can handle this easily. Of course, you're wrong.
As you fight wave after wave of enemies, they keep coming at you, following you wherever you go. Sure as you move on you get additional cannons, bombs that destroy everything in their path and even ships but none of that is enough. Instead of just being one or two glowing shapes, they'll start coming in bigger clusters, popping up all over the place. To your left, to your right, all around you, maybe even over you, and as if random spawning wasn't enough they'll also have their own spawners spread around, so you gotta keep taking down everything in your way.
Also, the enemies will quickly become stronger, faster and badder. Those measly triangles and diamonds will quickly be replaced by circles, snakes, ships that chase you around wherever you go and even black holes. You may think something that sucks up all the enemies is good, but they will also suck up any powerups, gunfire or even you, constantly growing bigger and more powerful as they do so, until they eventually explode into a huge cluster of circles all heading towards you, because every enemy will chase you whenever you're close, or even if you're far away. And if you think one black hole is enough, sometimes they'll come in groups, each trying to suck the other into them and seriously pulling everything else towards them.
As you keep on fighting and fighting, trying not to hit any enemies and thus destroying your ship, you'll quickly realize the odds are seriously against you as you're just one pilot fighting against hundreds and thousands of weird glowing shape thingies which keep coming out of nowhere bent on destroying you. Who knows why they hate you, who knows where they come from, who knows why the game is hell-bent on driving you mad, but none of that matters when you notice they've already surrounded you and there's no way out. But then you think to yourself that there is a way out, and you immediately head for the Bomb button, but then you find out⿦ you're out of ammo. Crap, you think to yourself, as the enemies eventually get to you and your ship goes bye-bye.
And that's how I would describe what this game will make you go through. Simple? Yes. Difficult? Yes. Incredibly addicting? HECK YEAH! Anyone who's played Geometry Wars should feel pretty familiar with this. The graphics are pretty simple since everything's made out of simple shapes but they still look pretty cool and rather retro, like the sound effects and music. If you wait long enough on the title screen you'll get a description of all the enemies and powerups, and hitting Escape at anytime allows you to pause the game and change the game's settings.
